Me, in a nutshell

I am very friendly, enthusiastic and I have a passion for teaching and learning, making a positive difference and inspiring individuals to reach their full potential.

As an online English tutor, I have taught a wide variety of ages and abilities, from toddlers aged 2+ to adult learners.

I offer fun, interactive and personalised lessons online from aged 2 and above!

All lessons are conducted on ‘Zoom’ and are interactive, encouraging active participation and involvement. My approach is to include a range of different activities to engage learners in a fun and practical way, focusing specifically on their learning needs and interests.

Qualified Teacher

Qualified Teacher with a Post Graduate Certificate of Education from Northumbria University.

BA 1st class Joint Honours degree in Childhood and Disability Studies.

Enhanced DBS checked.

TESOL qualification.

Experience

4 years’ experience working in a primary school.

1.5 years’ experience teaching English online.

Experience working with and supporting pupils with individual needs and autism since I was 16.

Voluntary experience with nursery aged pupils, primary and secondary.

Experience teaching English to children, young people and adult learners from complete beginner level to C-level advanced and business English.

Interests and voluntary experiences

My passion is travelling the world, learning about and experiencing new cultures and diverse ways of living. Over the years I have travelled to many countries, completing voluntary projects where I have worked with children and adults with English as an additional language- from beginner level to advanced. I have also completed a mentoring programme in India where I worked with the teachers to support and improve their teaching practices.
I also love hiking, adventurous activities and sports.

Conversational English

I am happy to help you with your conversational English. We can discuss a range of different topics of your choice and don't worry if you think you may run out of topics, I am very friendly and talkative and love to talk so we will always have something to discuss.

English for beginners

If you are a complete beginner- not to worry, I am patient and approachable and have a wide range of resources to support you in developing basic vocabulary, grammar and building your skills to enable you to communicate effectively with others.

British English

I am a native speaker from the North East of England.

English for traveling

If you are planning to visit English speaking countries, I can help you to prepare with key phrases and vocabulary.

English job interview preparation

Preparing for an interview or new job? I am more than happy to support you to rehearse questions, role play, mock interviews and use different scenarios to help you feel confident and prepared. I can also assist you with preparing an excellent CV/job application.

English for children

My passion is working with children. I have a huge range of experience teaching children of various ages face to face and on many online platforms.

English homework help

Need some extra help with your homework from school or college? I am happy to help support you to complete your homework or answer any questions or queries that you may have.

ESL

I have taught children and adults with English as an additional language in a range of settings- pre school, primary, secondary and have worked with adult learners.

For studying abroad

If you're planning on studying aboard, I can support you to improve your English skills and learn key survival phrases.

TESOL

I have completed my TESOL qualification and have been teaching varying ages and abilities on several online platforms.

English for students with additional needs (Autism/ADHD)

Working with and teaching pupils with additional needs for over 10 years, I feel I have an extensive range of experience and can adapt lessons accordingly and suitably. I also studied Disability Studies at University and have a passion for teaching pupils with autism.

Home-schooling

If you’re a home-school family, I am happy to devise a range of different lessons in addition to English. Working as a primary school teacher, I am confident in teaching a wide range of subjects across the curriculum, including specialised and personalised classes/themes to meet your child’s interests.

International School applications and interview preparation

I have successfully supported a number of children in applying, preparing and gaining entry into international schools.

Creative classes

Within my lessons I incorporate a range of different themes personalised to meet children’s interests and passions. If there is anything particular that your child enjoys, please don’t hesitate to let me know and we can plan lessons/courses accordingly.
